The Fiji Roads Authority is working closely with Contractors regarding the threatening sinkhole at the Kaudamu junction at Kinoya road.
FRA says the contractors are working hard to manage the continuous flow of storm water.
They add that this is expected to be diverted to a catch pit located on the other side of the road soon.
FRA says this is aimed at minimizing the flow of storm water and to allow contractors to construct a stable ground to put in new rubber ring culverts.
They add that they are on track to meet their deadline as they have started replacing the dislocated and damaged old culverts.
Works on the road were initially expected to finish last month however due to the underground water which washed out the soil, it requires careful control.
They expect to finish works on the site by the end of this month.
Motorists can use Vesivesi Road as an alternative route.
