As property prices go even higher around the country the Real Estate Agents Licensing Board Chairman Dr Abdul Hassan believes one of the mitigating factors is for stakeholders to work with the iTaukei landowners so that land can be developed into housing properties.
In an interview with Fijivillage Hassan says that working with the iTaukei landowners can decrease the prices of houses in the future.
He says that scarcity of properties in the market is the main reason for high prices of houses in the country.
Hassan says that another reason is the high cost of building materials in Fiji and the way to mitigate this is bulk buying.
He also says that in Fiji, another reason for expensive properties is the scarcity of labour force.
