Women who have been subjected to domestic violence in Fiji will soon be able to access a new home.
Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Rosy Sofia Akbar says there are plans to build safe houses for women who are victims of domestic violence and abuse.
Akbar says they currently they do not have permanent safe houses and the Ministry is working with the Non‑Government Organisations to build two safe houses.
She says the Ministry is currently using State Care Homes for any emergency cases.
