Police in Nausori are requesting information that could help identify a woman whose body was found floating in the Rewa river on Saturday afternoon.
A 28-year-old who was diving for fresh water mussels near Vunimono, Nausori found the woman’s body.
The victim is believed to be aged between 45-50 years.
She is 4 ft 9 inch tall of fair complexion and has long black hair and was wearing a blue dress with a key pinned to the front of her dress.
Meanwhile, investigations continue in relation to the three suspected drowning cases in the Northern division.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said they are waiting for the post mortem results.
On Thursday afternoon at Uma Village on Rabi Island a 1-year-old girl was last seen with her 20-year-old mother at the church hall.
After some time she was informed that her daughter was found floating in the sea.
Police have interviewed the mother.
In the second incident two people died while swimming in the Namoli River in Labasa on Friday afternoon.
The 14 and 22-year-old were at the river with other family members washing a tarpaulin.
After washing the tarpaulin the two decided to go for a swim when strong currents swept them away.
The drowning toll stands at 37 compared to 39 for the same period last year.
