A 53-year-old woman who used to beg on the streets has found a new opportunity to fulfill her dreams.

Sarab Sati of Nabua has been given a bean cart by the Ministry of Women to earn money for her family.

Sati said she used to work as a house girl at Toorak, Suva for few months and when her employer went abroad she became unemployed.

She said that her husband is 70-years-old, and cannot work and his son is a casual labourer, thus they had some financial difficulties.

She said her circumstances compelled her to do street begging where she earned $10 to $15 a day but now she can earn $120 per day.

Sati said her biggest dream is to have her own home.

She said that she knows it’s going to take a lot of time but she has to try and believe that she has taken a step towards it.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Women through operation "Loloma" is working to identify and help those who are on the streets and want to change their lives.
