Police have now referred the matter of a woman who allegedly swore at a senior government official at Gorrie Street in Suva on Wednesday afternoon to the immigration department.
Police Spokesperson, Ana Naisoro has confirmed that the matter is now being handled by Immigration so any comments will come from them.
The alleged incident occurred during the opening of the employers hub at the Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation and the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association building.
The woman was shouting from the road while the devotion was underway before the opening of the employers hub.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro says the woman was taken in, questioned and released as investigators try to gather more statements.
Naisoro says it is alleged that she was shouting and swearing as she was angry about the traffic caused by the event on Wednesday night.
She says that the woman had mentioned the name of a senior government official.
