A 38-year-old woman who lost her house in a fire says government’s assistance has come at the right time.
Ilovi Talei of Navua received $1,000 from the Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation under the Fire Victims Relief Fund.
Talei who lost all her belongings in a fire in November last year says they are going through some trouble times.
The cost of damage is over $50,000.
Talei who is a mother of four says that the timely help will enable them to buy things that were lost in the fire.
Meanwhile, Assistant Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Veena Bhatnagar says the grant of $1,000 is intended to provide immediate relief like food and new clothing and basic needs.
