Accused Jovilisi Dau

Ritesh Kumar who is a prosecution witness in the abuse of office trial of a former government official today told the Suva High Court that some materials were not on the invoice list of the delivery to the government yard in Walu Bay.

He also confirmed that the total value of the materials was $184,000 but he only delivered $46,081.20 worth of materials on the 1st of August, 2011.

Kumar said the storeman at the yard did not want to sign the invoice as he said that all the items have not been delivered especially bigger materials like pine posts.

The witness said that the storeman had his own copy of the material list.

The manager of the then Rural Housing Unit Jovilisi Dau allegedly signed a delivery docket to accept materials worth $184,000 from Central City Hardware Limited but the hardware company only supplied $46,081.60 worth of building materials.

The trial continues.
