“We have the Prime Minister and Ministers who will stand for election and none of them will resign”
Those are the words of the People’s Democratic Party Leader Felix Anthony while speaking to about 40 people in Qauia.
Anthony questions why the cabinet ministers have not resigned.
Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama has already made it clear that the cabinet ministers will not resign and there will be no caretaker government as all the Prime Ministers and cabinet ministers in the past have remained in their positions until the elections.
The 2013 constitution also clearly states that the Prime Minister and other Ministers shall continue to exercise all the authority and powers vested in the Prime Minister and other Ministers under the Executive Authority of Fiji Decree until the Prime Minister assumes office after the general election.
