Parents are reminded that the welfare of their children is far more important than going to nightclubs.
Police raised concerns after a 26-year-old woman who is charged with one count of failure to provide necessity, allegedly locked her 2-year-old son at home to go clubbing.
The incident which happened last Wednesday night was reported by concerned neighbours.
Police say the woman's husband was working when this happened.
Meanwhile, the child is now under the care of the grandmother after consultation with the Social Welfare Department.
The 26-year-old woman is expected to appear in court today.
