The office of the Commissioner Northern is investigating a matter where residents of Yalava in Labasa have complained about not receiving water tanks as promised by the government.
Commissioner, Jovesa Vocea confirms that his office has received complaints from six residents and they are looking into it.
A 42-year-old Kamrul Bi says that families around the area are facing water problems for the last eighteen years and they have to go far to fetch water.
Bi says the residents had put this issue to government in 2013 and they were promised water tanks.
Kamrul says that thirteen families have received water tanks about six weeks ago but six other families were left.
She says they are still waiting for the water tanks.
