Fiji Day is not only a time of reflection of our 47 years history as an independent nation but, an envisioning for a brighter future that beckons now.

This was the message from Tui Macuata Ratu Wiliame Katonivere at the Fiji Day celebrations in Labasa.

Katonivere says as a sovereign state, Fiji has shown great resilience by overcoming many challenges and this has been possible by the people of the country that have called Fiji their home.

He says we can build a better Fiji if we change mindsets, attitudes and respect each other as citizens of the country.

Katonivere says the government is positive that it has provided the right environment to improve relations amongst different ethnic groups in the country.
