Permanent Secretary for Lands and Mineral Resources, Tevita Boseiwaqa said we are blessed as Fijians to have a lot of natural resources.
He made the comments at the public consultation on state land, foreshore and mining development in Sigatoka yesterday.
In an effort to look at improving service delivery and identifying challenges by its stakeholders, Boseiwaqa said they need to ensure that these natural resources are used wisely for our future generations to benefit.
Boseiwaqa said Fiji Water is a very good example of sustainable development and they are already seeing the benefits to the landowners and other nearby areas that have benefitted through the water bottling company.
Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources, Mereseini Vuniwaqa was also part of the face-to-face consultations with around 60 people yesterday in a bid to look at ways of working closely with each other.
