Water disruptions in Navua are due to low‑flow of raw water supply from the borehole at the Nayagi Raw Water Pumping Station.
This has been highlighted by the Water Authority of Fiji after residents from Navua raised serious concern about the water supply in Navua.
According to residents, they only get water for one or two hours in a day and it is an ongoing issue for them.
The Authority says they are aware of the water disruptions in Navua and crew members together with officers from the Mineral Resources Department will be undertaking de‑silting works.
Water Authority’s Mechanical and Electrical team will also carry out water pump servicing works.
Authority’s Supervisor on site says the part of the Nayagi supply had been temporarily fed by the Navua and Deuba water supply systems.
Water carting trucks are on standby to service the areas which include Navua Town, Vuninokonoko, Naitata, Sadro Road, Vunibau Village, Deuba Village, Vakabalea Road, Nasasa Road, Viwawa Back Road.
There are around 1,500 metered customers.
