Water carting exercise comes to an end in Lomaiviti and Northern Lau

The Commissioner Eastern in coordination with its Emergency Water Committee Taskforce have now completed its water cartage exercise for critical areas in Lomaiviti and Northern Lau.    

They have been working together with the Water Authority of Fiji in the water carting exercise around the rural and maritime areas during this prolonged dry period.

The team has delivered 100,000 litres of water to the Northern Lau including Tuvuca and Avea while 97,000 litres of water was sent to Adi Maopa Secondary School.

The National Disaster Management Office has also received requests from Southern Lau including Kabara, Oneata, Ogea and Totoya for water carting where the delivery will be scheduled once verification has been completed by the relevant agencies on the ground.
