The Water Authority of Fiji has launched two new handbooks to help improve access to their services.
While speaking at the launch Chief Executive Officer Opetaia Ravai told the stakeholders the handbooks contain important and practical information on how their key stakeholders such as businesses and industries can play their part in ensuring that the new Liquid Trade Waste Policy is followed.
Ravai stresses that the handbook is also an important tool for people and businesses in the plumbing industry as it serves as great need for the restaurant sector where it is now compulsory to have grease traps or grease interceptors.
The CEO also highlights that the designed handbook will enable stakeholders and businesses to better understand their role.
Ravai says that Water Authority is working with Fijian Commerce Commission and Ministry for Infrastructure to determine the proper fee structure and charges for those who will be found in breach of the new policy.
Meanwhile, the business customers will be able to get a copy of the handbook from all Water Authority Customers Services Centres.
