The Ministry of Fisheries and Forest together with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of iTaukei Affairs launched a campaign named as ‘Wakatu Campaign’ to ensure that communities continue to benefit from healthy natural resources.
The Permanent Secretary for Ministry of iTaukei Affairs Naipote Katonibua says that campaign focuses on the sustainable environment for national development which is centred on issues such as, increasing harvest yields and access to vibrant marine ecosystems amongst others.
He says it is not about protecting the environment; it is about supporting our people.
The Ministry of Fisheries and Forests Permanent Secretary Samuela Lagataki says this campaign is bringing their collaboration to the highest level for the betterment of our people, at a time when threats such as climate change, are making life harder for our communities.
