22 households of Waikerekere Settlement outside Lami now have access to clean water.
Rewa Provincial Administrator Josevata Suka said the initial water source for Waikerekere was a water dam.
Suka said the government has allocated $8,013 to buy 10 tanks which can hold 5,300 litres of water.
Meanwhile, Nanise Ravi, who is a resident of Waikerekere, said since the dam was built, it had rusty pipes.
Ravi said they have been facing difficulties in getting clean water and this assistance from the government will help them with the supply of clean water.
The tanks were distributed among the 22 households.
