The Water Authority of Fiji continues to work on major projects in the Nadi area to meet the water demands from both domestic and commercial customers.
Water Authority General Manager Customer Services Sekove Uluinayau says that they had successfully commissioned the transmission pipeline from Nadele to the Votualevu Rice Mill junction, in Nadi.
Uluinayau says that the pipeline is 7.39km long and is fed from the Nagado Water Treatment Plant and was installed as it was imperative for the Authority to undertake this project to meet their customers demands.
Uluinayau says that to improve water distribution, Water Authority is also working to install two Tasman Tanks at 6 Mega litres each and earthworks have begun at the site in Nawaicoba.
He says another Tasman Tank will also be built at Nadi Hospital that will hold 1 Mega litre.
Uluinayau says these tanks will be reservoirs to hold water to service areas in the vicinity and they are expected to be in operation towards the end of next year.
