The electoral process in Tonga and Samoa has a high level of trust from the voters, and is far greater than what we are enjoying in Fiji at the moment.
This was highlighted by the Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem when questioned by overseas media on the trust factor towards the electoral system during the Regional Investigative Journalism and Political Reporting Workshop.
Saneem says that having a good amount of trust is very healthy for the country.
Saneem says the trust factor for the voters is not very high as Fiji have just had only one elections since 2006.
He says that elections only happens once in a series of years and is not an everyday event so if you have a few than you will have a fair idea of what people know.
