"I never believed that I would lose my older brother so soon".
This was said by Alesh Verma, the younger brother of Atish Verma who lost his life in a fatal road accident at Varavu in Ba on Friday night.
Verma says that his brother was a very hard working and cheerful person as he made everyone around him happy and it is very hard for them to see him leave so soon.
He says his brother was returning home after dropping their mother in Sigatoka who went to attend their uncle's funeral.
Verma is survived by his wife and two children.
Meanwhile, police say that the 38‑year‑old driver who was involved in a fatal accident has been questioned and has been released.
The post mortem will be carried out next week.
It is alleged that after 6pm an oncoming vehicle driven by the 38-year-old, burst its tyres causing the vehicle to veer onto the opposite lane and collided with the victim's vehicle.
Police say that Verma's wife and two children aged 2 and 1 are still admitted at the Lautoka Hospital in critical condition.
