Verification for Christmas Island pay‑out continues

The Ministry of Defence, National Security will continue with the verification for Christmas Island pay‑out.
The Ministry will carry out this process and ensure that all affected persons have access to this verification process.
Verification team is expected to work in the Rakiraki and Tavua areas tomorrow.
Meanwhile, 24 surviving veterans of the Christmas Island nuclear tests known as Operation Grapple received more than $9,000 each from the government last month.
The 2015 budget has allocated $2.95 million to the Ministry of Defence for this purpose.
