A 46-year-old van driver who is alleged to have sexually assaulted an 8-year-old student has been told to apply for bail on the next date.
The man is charged with one count of sexual assault.
The alleged incident happened on the 12th of last month in Nakasi.
The van driver picks up the students and drops them to school.
It is alleged that the man picked up the 8-year-old girl and instead of dropping her to school, he took her to Nakasi where the alleged incident took place.
The man has been remanded in custody by Magistrate Sufia Hamza due to the seriousness of the charge.
The case has been adjourned to the 29th of this month.
