The 75-year-old leader and pastor of Back to Eden Church Ministry Iowane Vakadranu today confirmed in court that he was also a doctor and teacher for his followers although he had no degrees or qualifications in the field of medicine and teaching.
During the cross examination by state prosecutor Siteri Navia, the pastor also confirmed that he had sex with the first state witness more than once during the one on one sessions.
Vakadranu agreed in court today that he told the first state witness that he will perform an act on her that she never dreamt of.
He said that the reasons for the sexual acts was to prepare the woman for a mission and to prevent her from committing adultery.
Vakadranu confirmed that because of these reasons, the first state witness had consented to have sex with him.
When questioned he confirmed that he is not legally married to the first state witness.
Vakadranu disagreed with the state prosecutor when she put to him that he was committing a sin.
The cross-examination by the prosecution continues this hour.
Vakadranu is charged with 4 counts of rape. The alleged incidents occurred between 1st October, 2012 to 31st August, 2014 in Labasa and Tailevu.
