“I believe that leadership is a choice where you can choose to become a leader.”

Those were the words of Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations Jone Usamate during the opening of the two day Fiji Corrections Service Leadership workshop at Novotel in Lami today.

Usamate says leadership is not something that one is born with.

He says that he has seen people that are born in difficult circumstances and did not have the chiefly right but are able to lead well because they have developed their leadership roles.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Fiji Corrections Service Francis Kean says the honors falls on the shoulders of each officer and the respective roles that they play in their respective institutions.

A total of 84 Senior officials from 13 Correction institutions from around the country are participating in the workshop.
