Opposition MP Semesa Karavaki has told parliament that the unity which President Jioji Konrote referred to when he opened the new parliament session is artificial.
When President Konrote opened parliament earlier this month, he called on members of parliament to harness the spirit of our Olympic win and to tap the wonderful sense of unity that has descended on our country.
Karavaki told parliament that this unity is artificial because it is based on the glory of man.
He also said that President Konrote missed the opportunity to point the nation and its people to the foundation of true unity.
Karavaki said the true foundation of unity is the word of God.
When asked to explain his statement and what he meant by the end of the government, Karavaki said that the end is imminent and nobody can delay, cancel or revoke that and the government has an obligation to carry it out.
When Fijivillage asked Karavaki if he spoke to Kolinisau and checked with him whether his comments were part of a prophecy, Karavaki replied by saying that he has not spoken to Kolinisau but some people have asked him about the Fiji 7s captain’s comments.
