High Court Judge Justice Riyaz Hamza has sentenced 33-year-old taxi driver, Umendra Kumar charged with one count of abduction and three counts of rape to 15 years imprisonment.
He abducted a 14-year-old girl from Nasinu and took her to Nadi, Lautoka and Rakiraki and raped her on three separate days.
The incidents took place on the 11th, 12th and 13th of January 2014.
While delivering his sentencing, Justice Hamza says the man took advantage of the vulnerability of the victim.
He also said there was a huge age difference between Kumar and the victim at the time of the incident.
Justice Hamza has set a non-parole period of 12 years.
