Batinisavu Uluiyata of Natabua took home the gold in the Senior Boy’s 400 metres while Alaiwalu Rayawa of Adi Cakobau School came first in the girl’s division.
Uluiyata said his win is dedicated to his late mother who passed away last year.
He hopes that he will win his 200 metres and 4x400 metres events today.
Uluiyata hopes to help Natabua take the boys title for the time to the west.
Meanwhile Alaiwalu Rayawa of ACS says she wanted to make her last year in the games count for the school.
Apolosi Koroi of QVS won the Intermediate Boy’s 400 metres while Meresiana Vukici of Jasper won the gold medal in the Intermediate Girl’s final.
Vukici said her win is dedicated to their new family member.
In the Junior division, Kameli Sauduadua of RKS won gold in the 400 metres final while Makereta Naulu of Jasper clinched the gold medal in the Girl’s Division.
Sauduadua of RKS created an upset beating Josefa Tabakaucoro of Marist and James Cox of Natabua High School.
He is aiming to win the 800 metres today.
Sakeasi Kaitu of Grammar won the gold in the Sub Junior 400 metres final while Rusiana Ratulevu of Jasper took gold in the Girl’s Division.
