The University of the South Pacific will now offer certificate programs and some new diploma courses.
The four new diploma and twelve certificate courses are under a program called the Pacific Technical and Further Education.
Pacific Technical and Further Education Director Hasmukh Lal says the program has been created to provide flexible pathways for higher studies to school dropouts and school leavers who were not able to reach the marks for a degree course.
Lal said it has taken them two years to develop this program and mentions that the program will also give an opportunity for full time workers to continue their studies.
The program covers areas like Business, Tourism and Hospitality, Education and Humanities, Science and Technology and Workforce Development Training.
Meanwhile, USP will commence it’s first semester on the 16th of next month.
