USP has dealt with its financial and governance issues – Dr. Reddy

All financial and governance issues raised with the USP council have been dealt with by the executive committee of the USP council and the full council.

Minister for Education, Doctor Mahendra Reddy confirmed this in parliament today while responding to a question raised by the Opposition Leader, Ro Teimumu Kepa on why an independent investigation in the financial and governance issue as highlighted in one of the recent petitions to the USP Council has not been instituted.

Reddy says it is important that USP as a regional University with its own governance structure be allowed to operate according to its procedures and policies.

The Minister then highlighted the way in which these petitions and complaints were dealt with by the USP Council.
