The greatest resource that a university can have is it’s staff.
This was highlighted by the University of the South Pacific Vice Chancellor Professor Pal Ahluwalia who has made an assurance that the management of USP will work closely with the USP Staff Unions to get the best results for their students.
Professor Ahluwalia says that in his first week he called the three staff unions in to talk to them of about the concept of vuvale that they want to drive as a focus for the University.
He adds that if the management and staff will be pushing the values of vuvale it will have to begin within the university faculty adding that their most important task is to serve the university and serve their students as best they can.
Ahluwalia says that since taking up his role there have been issues of backlog of the payment of staff that have since been dealt with in record time.
It was also highlighted that there are currently over 2,500 staff at the University of the South Pacific.
