The United States of America is not threatened by the expanding trade relations between Fiji and China.
US Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State and Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs, Kurt Tong says in a broader sense the expanding trade relations between the two countries does not have a big impact on trade and investment patterns.
He says what the United States wants China to do in all of its affairs overseas is approach all relationships with the spirit of mutual benefit
Tong says the smart thing for Fiji would be to look in all directions and certainly expand its trade relations with Australia and New Zealand.
He adds an increase in networking between Fiji and America should further improve.
