A one-year-old girl was found floating in a river near her home in Draubuta village in Tailevu on Wednesday morning.
The child was last seen by her mother lying inside their home.
In the second incident a two-year-old boy was found floating in a river in Natuva village, Korovou yesterday afternoon.
The body of the two year old was found by a group of men of the same village.
He was last seen by his father who was inside their home. The incident was reported at the Korovou Police Station.
Police say the circumstances surrounding the death of the two children are being investigated and the issue of negligence will also be looked into.
The Fiji Police Force has also renewed calls to prioritize the safety and welfare of children at all times.
