The two tertiary school students who drowned on Sunday were trying to save one of their friends.
Police confirm the two men, both aged 21, were trying to save another friend who was swept away in Sigatoka River.
They say the two men got swept away by strong currents and drowned at 11am Sunday.
Their bodies were recovered a few hours later.
Police say the post mortem will be conducted today.
The drowning toll is 13 compared to 14 for the same period last year.
