Two seasonal workers who will be employed in New Zealand under the Recognised Seasonal Employer Work Scheme were presented Life Skills Training and Pre-Departure Orientation Certificates.
This is the first recruitment for 2017 under the New Zealand Recognised Seasonal Employer Work Scheme.
They will be employed with Cairnbrae Seed Cleaning Ltd.
28-year-old Krishnil Mudaliar from Sigatoka and Asish Chand of Navua will leave for New Zealand sometimes this week.
Mudaliar who is a farmer in Sigatoka Valley says he is very happy and it is a good opportunity for him to work outside the country and improve his family’s living standard.
Chand who is also a farmer says that this will enable him to build a much proper shelter for himself and buy other farming gears.
He says it is rare to find such employment and he cannot express how joyful he is being part of this great opportunity.
The Ministry of Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations Permanent Secretary Salaseini Daunabuna says that Mudaliar and Chand will be operating seed dressing machines and will be employed for the duration of six months.
Daunabuna says both workers are handpicked by the employer since both have experiences in agricultural farming and also can operate plants and machineries such as forklifts and tractors.
