Motorists can now drive over two newly constructed road lanes when they travel through Namaka from today.
The traffic switchover will allow the contractor to start constructing another section of the Nadi and Suva Road Upgrading Project road and infrastructure upgrade.
Fiji Roads Authority Programme Manager Zaina Khan said that travellers along the Namaka Corridor of Queens Road in Nadi can expect temporary traffic flow changes.
Khan said the changeover is significant and travellers will need to be mindful of changes in the latest temporary arrangement.
She added that to keep the traffic flowing as smoothly as possible, buses must use the new service lane when going towards Nadi as their contractor Higgins will be installing temporary traffic signs indicating that bus drivers use the service lane when travelling towards Nadi.
