Two more people charged with sedition

Two more people have been charged for Sedition and Urging Political Violence by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Isaia Raega Driu and Samuela Nabenia were produced at the Tavua Magistrates’ Court today and have been remanded in custody due to the seriousness of the charges and the ongoing police investigations against them.

Their case has been transferred Rakiraki Magistrates’ Court.

This is in relation to the case being investigated in Ra.

Police Commissioner Ben Groenewald earlier said that more people are expected to be charged in the coming days in relation to alleged seditious acts in the country.

These people were allegedly having military style training up in the hills of Ra.
