Two men have been jailed for raping and defiling a 13-year-old girl in a village in Lau in 2016.
One of the men who is the cousin of the victim has been convicted and sentenced for rape and has to serve 13 years, 8 months and 18 days in prison.
He raped the girl outside her home.
The other man has been sentenced to 6 years, 10 months and 15 days for defilement.
He had unprotected sex with the underaged girl outside her house.
Justice Vinsent Perera called the man’s actions shameful and called it one of the worst forms of defilement.
The Judge said it was the first man who had sex with the underage girl and led her to be raped by the second man.
