Two men are currently admitted at the CWM hospital after they were hit by a vehicle in Walu Bay at about 8.30 this morning.

The two were digging a trench to lay pipes when they were hit by a vehicle which went off the road just opposite the Paradise Beverages factory in Walu Bay.

The driver is currently being questioned at the Totogo Police Station.

It is alleged that the driver was racing with two other taxis on their way to Lami.

Chief Fire Officer Qionilau Mocetai says the driver of the private car swerved to the side, hit a post and then a forklift.

He adds that the driver of the private car then hit the two men.
