The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Natural Resources has made two main recommendations in its first parliamentary report on the relocation of Shirley Park.
While presenting the report in parliament, Committee Chairman, Joeli Cawaki says they have taken a bi‑partisan approach when compiling the report and the two recommendations were made through a unanimous decision.
He says that parliament should take confidence in the 64 page report.
Debate on the report will be done at a later date.
The committee had been going through submissions for the report after a petition signed by 500 residents of Lautoka was presented by Opposition MP, Niko Nawaikula in parliament.
There are plans to re zone Shirley park and develop a Four Star Hotel.
