Police say a 70-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman died in a bus accident in Raviravi, Ba yesterday and not two women as earlier confirmed by Police.
The 57-year-old woman from Vunisamaloa, Ba and 70-year-old farmer of Keolaiya, Nadi were travelling with 17 others in a bus along the Kings road when it veered onto the opposite lane and tumbled at a nearby cane field in Raviravi.
Two passengers including the driver are still admitted at the Lautoka Hospital while the rest have been treated and sent home.
Meanwhile, another two serious accident cases were recorded in the last 24 hours.
The first occurred at 4.45pm yesterday in Laqere when a 5-year-old boy was bumped by a taxi travelling down the Wakanisila road.
The boy allegedly ran across the road and collided with the left side view mirror of the taxi where he received scratches on his forehead.
He was taken to the CWM Hospital where he is still under observation.
The driver has been interviewed and released by Police.
In another incident, two women were bumped by a vehicle driven by a 33 –year-old man at around 6.30pm along the Kings Road, in Narewa, Rakiraki.
The suspect was heading towards Tavua when he lost control of his vehicle causing it to veer off the road, hitting the two women who were walking on the side of the road.
A 27-year-old is currently admitted at the Rakiraki Hospital while the second victim an 18-year-old was treated and sent home.
The driver has been questioned while his vehicle remains at the Rakiraki Police Station for examination.
