Two former workers of Tappoos Group of Companies granted bail

Two former workers of Tappoos Group of Companies who have each been charged with 12 counts of falsifying documents and 12 counts of theft have been granted bail.

The two employees, Abinesh Chand and Moushmi appeared in the Sigatoka Magistrates Court and were released on a bail bond of $6,000 each with two sureties.

In addition, Chand and Moushmi are to report to the Sigatoka Police Station every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

It is alleged that Moushmi stole a total of $79,903.45 and Abinesh Chand stole $41,000 while being employed by the subsidiary companies under the Tappoos Group of Companies.

The alleged incident happened between January to May this year.

The two are also being investigated for likely offences from 2012 to 2016.

The case has been adjourned to 14th August and the state has to provide full disclosures to defence lawyer Iqbal Khan.
