Two faults have been located on Fiji Electricity Authority’s 33,000 volt underground cable that supplies power from the Vatuwaqa Substation to the Suva Substation.
These faults have affected power supply to the Suva Business District and suburbs.
FEA confirmed that they have been working around the clock from 2am yesterday and a fault in the underground cable was found at Furnival Park in Toorak while the second fault has been located at Grantham Road.
FEA is now working on the faults and is hoping that they are fixed as soon as possible.
At this stage, it is not possible to estimate the actual repair times.
As mentioned yesterday, FEA has no other option but to resort to planned load shedding.
