Two employees of the Water Authority of Fiji appeared in the Nadi Magistrates Court today for obtaining money by selling water tanks provided by the government under the Rain Water Harvest Tank Project.
FICAC charged Varayame Drelo with one count of Obtaining a Financial Advantage while Sairusi Nageti has been charged with two counts of Obtaining a Financial Advantage.
It is alleged that between July and October this year in Nadi, Sairusi Nageti and Varayame Drelo sold water tanks that were given by the government under the project and obtained $5,040.
For the second count, it is alleged that Nageti sold more water tanks and obtained $1,940.
FICAC State Counsel, Adrian Sharma informed the court that the first phase disclosures were served to the two men.
Magistrate Peni Dalituicama released the men on bail.
The accused persons have been told to report to the Lautoka Police Station every Saturday between 9am and 12pm. A stop departure has also been issued and they were told not to interfere with prosecution witnesses.
The case has been adjourned to 24th January 2019 for plea.
