Twin brothers Ratu Veiwili Loanakadavu and Ro Veidovi Loanakadavu will take their plea on the 29th of this month.

The brothers appeared before Suva Magistrate Deepika Prakash for allegedly threatening to kill a group of Police officers on the 14th of last month.

It is also alleged the two racially abused a Fijian officer of Indian descent.

Both are charged with drunk and disorderly behaviour and resisting arrest while Ratu Veiwili is charged with an additional count of serious assault.

The brothers were arrested on the 14th of last month along Victoria Parade by officers who were on patrol.

They were allegedly intoxicated and were threatening to kill the Police officers and continued swearing despite being repeatedly warned and asked to clear the area.

The two allegedly confronted the officers and in the process damaged the accessory vest belonging to one of the arresting officers while verbally abusing another officer.

Ratu Veiwili also has a suspended sentence for a case of damaging property.

Defence lawyer Alofa Seruvatu told the court the twins were not ready to take the plea today as they had appeared for the first time and full disclosures have not been served.

Magistrate Prakash told the defence that this was not the first time they had appeared in court as they had previously appeared on the 17th of last month and disclosures should have already been served.

Seruvatu also stated they will require a later date for plea because she will be taking medical leave and will hand the case to another lawyer.

Plea for all charges will be taken on the 29th and bail has been extended.
