49- year-old Ponipate Turagalevu who was the driver that was allegedly involved in the fatal accident between Samabula and Nabua on Sunday, has been charged and is expected to appear at the Suva Magistrate Court later this morning.
Police Spokesperson said Josaia Weicavu said Turagalevu has been charged with two counts of dangerous driving occasioning death, two counts of dangerous driving occasioning bodily harm, one count of driving without a valid driving licence and one count of failing to comply with requirements following an accident.
He turned himself in yesterday.
Two men aged 21 and 19, died in this accident.
The 24-year-old passenger is still admitted at the CWM hospital while the 19-year-old passenger has been discharged.
The Toyota Fielder rental car they were travelling in veered off Ratu Mara Road and tumbled 40 metres down a cliff at around 6.30am Sunday.
