The inclusion of young women is equally important for youth groups as they can make a positive contribution to the betterment of a Club.
Those were the words of the Minister for Youth and Sports Laisenia Tuitubou while handing over handicrafts tools to the Visito Young Women’s Youth Club in Levuka.
Some of the equipment provided included a handsaw, grinder, wood glue, thinner and other materials which will allow members of the club to process and furnish handicrafts materials to generate income.
Tuitubou also highlighted the need for women empowerment in individual communities.
Meanwhile, Visito Club’s Secretary, Lagilagi Qatia says the assistance has arrived at the right moment as they are working on developing the successfulness and productiveness of their young women.
Qatia also says that they are working to secure a handicraft shop in Levuka which is much needed as the island has been declared as a World Heritage Site.
