The President and two trustees of the Jittu Estate Land Trust have been taken into police custody for allegedly breaching the court order.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed they allegedly trespassed on to the People’s Community Network property yesterday and following that they were arrested.
The People’s Community Network is undertaking the second phase for the Lagilagi Housing project in the area.
The Jittu Land Trust had earlier claimed they own the piece of land as they had paid $100,000 to the Methodist Church.
They said the church later transferred the piece of land to the Lands Ministry with an understanding that the people who had paid for the land would not be removed.
