A truck that broke down near the Lami Village crossing on the main highway after 7 this morning is yet to be removed from the road and is still causing a traffic jam which is affecting people travelling in and out of Lami.
This also caused many workers and school students to be late this morning.
Lami Police are at the scene directing traffic.
They say that they do not have the manpower to remove the truck and they are waiting for a tow truck to remove the vehicle.
Lami Police had told us after 9 this morning that they were waiting for a tow truck.
A Fulton Hogan employee who left Samabula at 8am for Lami is still stuck in the traffic along Lami.
It has taken Gyanendra Prasad more than three hours to travel to Lami from Samabula.
The traffic is currently backed up to Reservoir Road and Walu Bay from the Suva end.
On the Lami end, the traffic is backed up right past Kalekana.
We will have more on this story later.
