A Tropical Cyclone alert is now in force for Ono-I-Lau.
Category 3 Tropical Cyclone Gita was located about 1080km east of Ono-i-Lau and about 1090km East of Lakeba at 6am today.
The Cyclone is moving South at about 15km/hr.
The Nadi Weather Office has confirmed that the system is not expected to affect the group till later Tuesday afternoon adding that the cyclone is expected to curve west towards Southern Lau.
The Weather Office says that on this track the cyclone centre is expected to be located about 770km East of Ono-i-Lau at 6am on Tuesday.
Close to the centre, the Cyclone is expected to have average winds of up to 50km/hr.
The Weather office says that the forecast for today and tomorrow is fine apart from afternoon or evening showers and possible thunderstorms.
